The local chapter of the Surfrider Foundation is seeking volunteers for the Doheny Blues Festival. The local Surfrider chapter coordinates the event’s volunteers each year. The festival compensates the foundation $5,000 for use of the volunteers. The festival, Saturday and Sunday at Doheny State Beach, features music, food and merchandise. Mark Cousineau, chairman of the San Clemente Surfrider chapter, said the organization will use the money for water testing in San Clemente and for programs to help raise water-quality awareness in South County schools.
