In other City Championship quarterfinals:
Kennedy 1, Chatsworth 0--Monique Acedo scored from third on a fielder’s choice with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning at Brand Park in Mission Hills.
Alissa Villanueva hit a sharp grounder to shortstop and Acedo, who had two of Kennedy’s four hits, beat the throw to the plate.
Ryane Montes (17-3) pitched a two-hitter, striking out three and walking none for Kennedy (17-3).
San Pedro 3, Sylmar 0--Natalie Tam threw a no-hitter to help the Pirates advance to a semifinal against Kennedy.
Sylmar finishes 15-8.
INVITATIONAL
Monroe 13, Dorsey 2--Diana Gameros had two hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs, and Lisa Rodriguez had three RBIs for Monroe (8-11) in a quarterfinal at Monroe.
Annette Vaiz (5-8) scattered seven hits and struck out nine.
Van Nuys 15, Fairfax 1--Kelly Hanna (9-10) allowed three hits and one unearned run in six innings, and Nancy Lopez stole four bases and scored four runs for the sixth-seeded Wolves at Fairfax.
Veronica Castillo had two hits, including a double, and drove in three runs for Van Nuys (12-15).
Washington 4, Poly 1--Sonia Torres (10-9) had a no-hitter through four innings but gave up four runs, two earned, the rest of the way and the visiting Parrots (11-12) lost.
