BASKETBALL
* Tom Kelly, boys’ junior varsity basketball coach at Burroughs since 1993, has been hired to replace David Montgomery as head coach at Hart High.
Kelly inherits a program that has been in turmoil since the departure of Montgomery, who complained the school’s football program was hampering the development of the basketball team.
* Errol Garnett has resigned after one season as girls’ coach at Glendale High.
VOLLEYBALL
* Taft High’s Trisha Bratford, a 6-1 outside hitter and middle blocker who was selected All-Valley, has committed to Minnesota.
BASEBALL
* Bruce Beck, coach at Agoura High for four seasons, said he will resign following the Chargers’ season finale today against Moorpark.
TRACK AND FIELD
* Angela Foster of Moorpark College, the national junior college record-holder in the women’s hammer throw, has signed a letter of intent with Purdue.
Foster set a national record of 185 feet to win the final of the hammer in the Southern California championships at Santa Barbara City College on Saturday.
