St. Thomas Church

* The May 8 article, “Parish Finds Warehouse to Be Place of Worship,” points out that church is where the people pray. How sad that of $1.5 million to repair the building, less than half a million has been raised so far. St. Thomas is a vibrant faith community that has served an immigrant population well.
Across town, the multimillion-dollar Catholic cathedral is rising above the 101 Freeway, apparently with sufficient funds. It would be a miracle, indeed, if some of those funds could find their way to the burned building in mid-city, so that warehouse worshipers could once again pray in their parish church, St. Thomas.
