Man to Stand Trial in Father’s Slaying

WEST COVINA — A 22-year-old man who allegedly shot his father to death in their Glendora home was ordered Wednesday to stand trial, authorities said.
Randy Glenn Sherman is charged with murder with the special circumstance of lying in wait. He allegedly killed his father, Rocky Sherman, on Jan. 3. The two had reportedly argued that morning, and the elder Sherman had kicked his son out of the house.
At a preliminary hearing Wednesday, Citrus Superior Court Judge R. Bruce Minto ruled that there was sufficient evidence to require Sherman to stand trial.
Sherman is being held without bail. He is to be arraigned May 24 in Pomona Superior Court.
