The City Council on Tuesday asked Kingsmen Executive Director Richard Oliverio to meet with the city attorney to determine if Kingsmen bingo games should be exempt from statewide laws banning smoking in workplaces with paid employees. Oliverio claims only volunteers and independent contractors work for the Kingsmen. The city attorney has said he must determine if the independent contractors meet legal criteria to claim that status.
