The Farmer’s Market is slated to make a comeback June 13 at the Birch Street Promenade.
Growers will peddle their produce from 3 to 7 p.m. every Tuesday year-round--rain or shine. The Southland Farmers’ Market Assn. and the city are hoping to make the market a success. The late afternoon and early evening hours are meant to attract homemakers and local business people on their way home from work. Two years ago, the city opened a farmer’s market at the Community Center, but its dedicated clientele was too small in its morning hours of operation to sustain the market for more than five months.
