* Storytelling--L.A. Theatre Works presents Sandra Tsing Loh performing her critically acclaimed solo show, “Aliens in America,” this weekend at Skirball Cultural Center. Satirist Loh weaves her semiautobiographical tale of growing up middle-class and Chinese-German in Southern California. The show had a successful run off-Broadway in New York, as well as in Los Angeles. All this weekend’s performances will be recorded for later broadcast on KCRW-FM. * Rock--Longtime L.A. faves Billy Vera and the Beaters will make a rare appearance Saturday at Cozy’s in Sherman Oaks. Singer and music historian Vera performs a mix of originals and R&B; classics. Show time: 9 p.m. The restaurant is at 14058 Ventura Blvd. $8. (818) 986-6000.

* Classical--The Valley Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Robert Chauls, will perform Saturday at Valley College’s Little Theatre in Valley Glen. Titled “From Russia and America . . . With Love,” the concert will feature works by American composer Aaron Copland and Russian composers Kabalevsky and Khachaturian. Russian violinist Irina Voloshina will be the featured soloist. * Celtic--Irish fiddler Kevin Burke will perform Saturday at the Folk Music Center at Encino Park. Burke is currently touring as a solo performer, but he is also part of the Celtic Fiddle Festival, an ensemble that includes Johnny Cunningham and Christian LeMaitre.
