After tracing a phone number to a Van Nuys apartment Friday, LAPD detectives arrested a man wanted for a double homicide in New York City.
The 38-year-old suspect, a Russian national who allegedly shot a man and a woman to death on Staten Island, was captured near the corner of Victory Boulevard and Densmore Avenue, said Officer Ted Williams of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Detective Support Division.
The suspect, whose name was withheld by police, is being held without bail at the Van Nuys Jail, pending extradition to New York. Two New York Police Department detectives were en route to Van Nuys on Friday night.
