CASTAIC — A 400-pound bear spooked a group of boys playing in a park and then wandered through several backyards before authorities chased it into the hills Friday evening.
A sheriff’s deputy followed the bear as it meandered through the yards along Bobcat Way and Hipshot Lane, said Terri Beatty, a desk officer at the county Sheriff’s Department’s Santa Clarita station.
