SEAL BEACH
A public memorial service for Surfing Hall of Famer Jack Haley will begin at the beach parking lot north of the Seal Beach Pier at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Haley, who died Saturday after a three-year battle with cancer, had requested that his memorial be a Hawaii-themed celebration.
The ceremony will include a mariachi band and a wreath set to sea by a surfer, said a Seal Beach lifeguards’ spokesman. Information: (562) 431-3567.
