Peters Leads Chapman to 13-2 Victory

Heather Peters had four doubles as Chapman defeated DePauw (Ind.), 13-2, in the Chapman Sun West softball tournament Monday at El Camino Park in Orange.
Peters drove in two runs and Chrissy Lake had three hits and three RBIs for the Panthers (17-6), who broke the game open by scoring nine runs in the seventh.
Katie Smithson (2-2) pitched a four-hitter for Chapman, striking out six.
In the UC Irvine Spring Invitational women’s tennis tournament:
Cal State Fullerton 9, Westmont 0--Amy Medlin and Eleanor Luzano swept their matches in singles, then combined for an 8-2 victory in doubles for the Titans in the consolation match.
Medlin swept, 6-2, 6-1, and Luzano won, 6-2, 6-2.
UC Irvine 6, Northern Arizona 0--Host UC Irvine won six singles matches without losing a set in the semifinals. Maureen Diaz won at No. 1, 6-0, 6-3, Jonni Seymour won at No. 2, 6-3, 6-0, and Darian Chappell won at No. 3, 6-2, 6-2, for Irvine, which will face Santa Clara in the championship match today.
