Foothill Capital Names Schwab to Succeed Chairman, Chief Executive

* Peter Schwab has been named chairman and chief executive of Foothill Capital Corp., the Los Angeles-based subsidiary of Wells Fargo & Co. Schwab, who has been president and chief operating officer of Foothill Capital since 1986, succeeds John Nickoll, who will remain chairman and CEO of Foothill’s parent company, the Foothill Group.
Henry Jordan, chief financial officer of the Foothill Group and executive vice president of Foothill Capital, has been promoted to president and chief operating officer of Foothill Capital.
* Los Angeles-based Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. has promoted executive vice president Scott A. Smith to president of its AMI Metals Inc. subsidiary. He replaces Robin Koop, who is retiring. Reliance Steel is one of the largest metals service center operators in the U.S.
Jean M. Prewitt was named president of the American Film Marketing Assn., a Los Angeles-based group representing companies in the independent film industry.
* MValue.com, a Los Angeles-based Internet company focusing on consumer information, has named Bobby H. Lee chief technology officer. Lee, who will be responsible for all technology aspects of the company, founded EPerson.com, an Internet start-up providing personalized content delivery.
