Unbeaten Fighters Will Square Off Tonight in Irvine

Undefeated welterweights Armando Velardez of San Bernardino and Manuel Rodriguez of Austin, Texas, will meet in the eight-round main event of tonight’s boxing card at the Irvine Marriott.
Velardez and Rodriguez have records of 6-0 with four knockouts.
In the featured undercard bout, former heavyweight contender David Dixon (20-3, 18 knockouts) comes back from an 18-month layoff to fight Jack Basting (22-17, three knockouts) of Minneapolis. Basting has fought former highly ranked contenders Orlin Norris and Andrew Golota.
All fans will receive a two-for-one coupon to the April 13 boxing card at the Arrowhead Pond. Tickets for the 7:30 show are $25 and $35.
