* Opera--Santa Barbara Grand Opera will stage Rossini’s comedy “La Cenerentola” (“A Cinderella Story”) beginning Friday at the Lobero Theatre, 33 E. Canon Perdido St., Santa Barbara. Mezzo-soprano Christine Abraham will play the leading role of Cinderella. Show times: Friday, 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, 2:30 p.m.; Wednesday, 7 p.m.; April 1, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday only, $39.50. * Dance--Santa Barbara Dance Alliance will present its Spring Choreographers’ Forum Saturday at 8 p.m. at Center Stage Theatre. The informal dance concert will feature a wide array of works, including classical, contemporary ballet and modern styles. After the performance, audience members can discuss the works with the choreographers and dancers. The theater is on the second level of Paseo Nuevo shopping center in downtown Santa Barbara. $15 general, $12 senior citizens and students. 963-0408.
* Songwriter showcase--An evening of original music and harmonies will be held Saturday at El Presidio Chapel, 123 E. Canon Perdido St., Santa Barbara. “Music in the Chapel,” presented in part by the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation, will feature works by Santa Barbara songwriters Bill Lanphar, Bent Myggen, Danny Briere, Greg Brooks and Jeff Mills. $10. 966-1279.
* Theater--Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria will open the musical comedy review “Oh Coward!” Saturday. The production, which opened on Broadway in 1972, celebrates the work of Noel Coward with a collage of songs, passages from his plays and autobiographies, plus assorted musical merriment. Staged on campus at Severson Theatre. * Concerts--A two-week concert series at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art will begin Tuesday with Ad Vielle Que Pourra, a group specializing in French folk and Celtic music. All performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the museum’s Mary Craig Auditorium. Schedule: March 31, Penderecki String Quartet; April 5, Haydn Trio Vienna; April 6, Le Trio Gershwin.
