* The San Fernando Valley Football Coaches Assn. will hold a free coaching clinic each Thursday night in April at Bassco Sports Goods, 7541 Woodman Place, Van Nuys.

The first clinic is scheduled for 7 p.m., April 6, and will feature tight ends coach Gary Bernardi of UCLA. Other speakers include Cal Lutheran Coach Scott Squires, USC assistants Dennis Thurman and Brian Schottenheimer, and Cal State Northridge Coach Jeff Kearin.
