If Sylmar’s Nos. 4-5-6 hitters start hitting, the Spartans could end up winning the Valley Mission League championship. They have a 4-3 record despite a four-for-54 slump by their run-producing hitters.
Eddie Camacho, a returning all-league outfielder, is batting .143 in the cleanup spot. Catcher Alvaro Santos is hitless in 16 at-bats. Third baseman Larry Anguiano is batting .104. But Coach Gary Donatella is confident all three will soon start driving in runs.

Catcher Jeff Dunn, a transfer from St. Francis, is batting .474 with 15 runs batted in for Crescenta Valley.
