A sewage spill caused Orange County health officials to declare part of Huntington Harbour and Seal Beach off limits Monday.
The spill was caused by a rupture in a line break at Seal Beach’s sewage facility, according to a statement released by Larry Honeybourne of the Orange County Health Care Agency.
In Huntington Harbour, signs warning of the spill were posted at Mother’s Beach, Portofino Marina, Peter’s Landing Marina and Sunset Aquatic Marina, Honeybourne said.
In Seal Beach, the waters from the pier to Anderson Street were polluted and closed to swimming and surfing.
Testing will determine when bacteria counts have fallen to an acceptable range, he said.
