Western’s Turner Will Have to Make All-Star Decision

Western’s Robert Turner has been selected to participate in the Dada All-Star Classic at the Pyramid in Long Beach and now must decide whether to forego his commitment to play in the Orange County All-Star game. Both events are scheduled for April 15.
The 6-foot-8 guard, who averaged 19.7 points and 8.8 rebounds this season, would play for the West All-Stars in a matchup against the U.S. All-Stars.
Turner, a first-team All-Orange League selection who has signed with Pepperdine, was the only county player selected.
WATER POLO
Kelly Greiner, a standout member of the boys’ water polo team at Esperanza, has received an appointment to the Air Force Academy, his mother Diane said.
Greiner, a two-year starter for the Aztecs, was a member of the North Orange County all-star team and was selected to the Southern Section Division II third team.
SOCCER
Servite midfielder Matt Kubota has signed a letter of intent with UC Santa Barbara, according to his coach, Matt Kubota. Kubota had 17 goals and 19 assists for the Friars this season and is the school’s all-time assist leader with 42.
