Stockton St. Mary’s 72, Playa del Rey St. Bernard 57--The usually prolific St. Bernard perimeter game was absent in the Division IV defeat against St. Mary’s, which won the title in its first championship-game appearance.

St. Bernard (26-6) made only 21 of 80 shots (26%), including five of 24 three-point attempts (20%).

Senior guard Shannon Howell scored 24 points for St. Bernard, but made only nine of 29 field-goal attempts and three of 13 three-pointers. Sophomore Alexis Kendricks scored 14 points, making four of 23 shots and two of 10 three-pointers.

Senior center Andrea Nederostek and junior guard Michelle Cozad each scored 23 points and freshman guard Dominique Banks added 18 to pace St. Mary’s (33-2) to its 21st consecutive victory.
