LAS VEGAS — A fire raced through an eight-unit apartment complex Tuesday, killing three small children and a man in a wheelchair.
“It looks like a bomb hit the complex,” said Bob Leinbach, a spokesman for the Clark County Fire Department. “The place is a total loss.”
The victims included a 2-year-old boy and his sisters, ages 4 and 5.
The names of the victims were withheld pending notification of relatives.
The death toll was the worst here since an arsonist set a fire at the Las Vegas Hilton in February 1981, killing eight people.
The cause of the blaze at the Cedar Springs Apartments was under investigation, Leinbach said.
