MISSION VIEJO
Four more residents have joined the race for City Council, bringing the number of candidates vying for the two seats available in the November election to eight.
Richard Macias, Lance MacLean, Joe Chavez and Jeffrey Eales submitted the forms necessary to run for the council.
The four will oppose incumbents William Craycraft and Roger Faubel and two members of a local government watchdog group, Dale Sandore and Gail Reavis.
MacLean is an administrator with UCI. Macias lists his occupation as an integrity inspector, Chavez is a computer analyst and Eales sells real estate. This will be the first campaign for a seat by Faubel, who was appointed by the City Council in January to fill the unexpired term of Councilman Tom Potocki, who died of cancer in December.
Craycraft has served on the council since 1987 and Sandore is making his second bid for the council after campaigning for a position in 1998.
