SEAL BEACH
The City Council has sided with the Bolsa Chica Land Trust’s efforts to stop a housing development on part of the Bolsa Chica mesa in Huntington Beach. The council voted Monday night to send a letter to the California Coastal Commission opposing a proposal from Hearthside Homes to build up to 1,235 homes on the mesa.
The Coastal Commission’s decision on the project is not expected until sometime in October. The commission’s meeting in Huntington Beach at the Waterfront Hilton on Aug. 9 will be open to the public.
