Printrak Quarter Profit Declines by 29%
Printrak International Inc. posted lower earnings for the first fiscal quarter Wednesday and named a new president.
Daniel Crawford is replacing Richard Giles, who remains chairman and chief executive of the Anaheim supplier of network software that manages government records. Crawford was promoted from executive vice president.
Printrak reported that first-quarter profit fell 29% to $1.2 million, or 9 cents a share, from $1.7 million, or 15 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 declined 4% to $15.6 million.
The company also said it has been awarded two contracts totaling about $5 million from the Colorado cities of Fort Collins and Aurora.
Printrak said it agreed to provide both cities with a computer-aided dispatch system. It also agreed to supply a fire records management system developed by SunPro Inc. and the FullCourt court management system developed by Justice Systems Inc. under the $3.2-million Fort Collins contract.
