WESTMINSTER
Marge Swenson won first place for her acrylic painting that depicts past and present Westminster at the Orange County Fair’s City Reflections contest last week. Swenson was one of 10 artists who were given five hours to present an image of their city in any medium.
Her painting on a 2-by-8 plywood sheet included images of former landmarks such as the Hi-way 39 Drive-In, sprawling strawberry fields and orange groves. “This painting represents over 40 years of history in Westminster,” Swenson said. “A lot of what is depicted is long gone, except in my memory.”
