YORBA LINDA
The City Council will vote tonight on whether to give money to the Yorba Linda Civic Light Opera, which is trying to pay for future programs.
The council is also expected to vote on changes to the city’s budget for the fiscal year 2000-01, which started July 1. Council members had already passed the budget as part of a two-year plan last year. The biggest change will be in funding for the legal department, which has been increased from $186,000 to $431,000. The increase is a response to the lawsuits the city is currently facing, Finance Director Susan Hartman said.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the council chamber at City Hall, 4845 Casa Loma Ave.
