PRAYER SUPPORT GROUP: A centering prayer support group will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Spirit Retreat Center, 4316 Lanai Road, Encino. Centering prayer is a silent mediation method intended to deepen one’s relationship with God and involves two 20-minute centering prayer periods separated by a meditative walk. Free. Afterward, the group will hold a luncheon celebration in honor of its 25th anniversary at the Encino Glen restaurant, 16821 Burbank Blvd. Naim is the town where Jesus showed compassion to a widowed mother who was burying her only son.
