Electronic Data Systems Corp. said it won $2.8 billion in contracts from Rolls Royce and Commonwealth Bank of Australia, snapping an order drought that concerned investors. Aircraft engine maker Rolls Royce will pay EDS $2.1 billion through 2012 to run computers and adapt its business to the Internet. Commonwealth Bank will pay EDS about $700 million during the next seven years to run computers at Commonwealth’s Colonial Ltd. The contracts are the first major agreements EDS signed this year. Shares of Plano, Texas-based EDS fell 38 cents to close at $39.81 on the NYSE.
