Anita ‘Nini’ Murray; Lifelong County Resident
Lifelong Ventura County resident Anita “Nini†Murray died Wednesday at a Ventura convalescent home following a lengthy illness. She was 94.
Murray was born July 18, 1905, in Oxnard. She was the daughter of Richard N. Haydon, a former Ventura County recorder, and Jennie Haydon.
Murray was employed by Title Insurance Co. for several years as a title searcher. She retired in 1956 but remained active in several organizations.
She was a member and past president of the Children’s Home Society, a member and past president of the Pango Club, a member of the Saticoy Country Club and a volunteer with the Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Murray was also a member of the La Estrella Dance Club, which was founded by her father in 1913.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Bill Murray, who died in 1991.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
