A Brea police officer who had part of his left leg amputated last month after an on-duty traffic accident in Yorba Linda will be returning to work within the next few months, Chief William Lentini said Friday.
Motorcycle officer Tom Bischetsrieder, 41, has recovered from the December surgery and is beginning a physical therapy process that will teach him to walk with a prosthetic limb, Lentini said.
