Johnson Chapel AME Plans Events to Mark 67th Anniversary

With a two-day spiritual reawakening planned for next week, Johnson Chapel AME Church of Santa Ana will begin a monthlong series of events to mark its 67th anniversary.

The church, at 1306 W. 2nd St., will hold the revival meetings at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. The meetings will be led by the Rev. C. Dennis Williams of Bethel AME Church in San Diego.

Other events in coming weeks include a dinner theater and silent auction Feb. 19 and a Family Day on Feb. 26. The anniversary will be formally celebrated Feb. 27 with morning and afternoon services. Information: (714) 972-8983.

‘The Bible for Beginners’ to Debut

Community Presbyterian Church of San Clemente will offer a course titled “The Bible for Beginners†beginning Wednesday and running through March 26.

The weekly classes, which cost $10, will focus on the history and interpretation of the Bible. Participants will receive a condensed edition of the Bible.
