Chapman Women Beat Cal Baptist

Shamekia Perkins scored 21 points, April Abyeta had 18 points and 12 rebounds and Polly Neves had 16 points and 14 rebounds to lead Chapman to an 82-68 victory over Cal Baptist in women’s basketball Thursday at Chapman.

Dawn Cason led Cal Baptist (8-12) with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

In nonconference women’s tennis:

USC 7, UC Irvine 2--UC Irvine’s Maureen Diaz defeated the Trojans’ Jewell Peterson, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, in a singles upset. Peterson is ranked 10th in the nation and Diaz is 79th.
