‘Friday’ Propels Ice Cube Locally

While Santana parlayed last week’s multiple Grammy nominations into a return to No. 1 on the national and Southern California album sales charts, Ice Cube used his West Coast credentials to break into the local Top 10 with the soundtrack to his new comedy, “Next Friday.” The collection is powered by Cube’s own hit “You Can Do It” and the reunion of his original group N.W.A--whose Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg also register on their own on the album and singles charts.
