*UC IRVINE (7-4) at NEVADA (2-9), 7, KUCI-FM (88.9)--The Wolf Pack’s only advantage in this Big West Conference opener is playing at home, but that might be enough. Irvine, off to its best start in 17 years, has lost 22 of its last 24 road games. A close game would favor the Anteaters, who rank sixth nationally in free-throw shooting at .762. Adrian McCullough averages 13 points to lead Nevada. Jerry Green averages 19 points to lead Irvine.
