* Jo Lynn Feinstein, director of continuing and professional education at Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, was awarded the James Cowan Excellence in Education award at a combined meeting of the Economic Development Collaborative of Ventura County and the Ventura County Economic Development Assn.
Feinstein has served on the VCEDA Business and Education Committee for seven years and was one of the first co-chairs of the countywide School to Career Network.
* Mohammed A. Hasan, a principal with Ventura-based Hasan Consultants, has been elected chairman of the Environmental Business Council of Ventura County. The council, made up of local environmental firms and laboratories, seeks to promote local environmental businesses.
Hasan Consultants is a civil and environmental engineering firm.
* Lora Simonsgaard, a registered investment advisor and registered representative with Royal Alliance Associates in Thousand Oaks, has earned the Certified Financial Planner designation.
She offers advice regarding investments, tax and estate planning, pension plans and real estate financing.
