In another quarterfinal:
No. 6 Marina 5, Long Beach Wilson 3--Cara Chlebicki scored Marina’s go-ahead goal in the fourth quarter with five minutes 39 seconds left in the game for the upset.
Marina (14-7) advanced to play Santa Barbara, the top-ranked team in Southern Section Division II, in the 11 a.m. semifinal at Heritage Park.
Wilson (15-5) is ranked second in Division I.
Santa Barbara 4, No. 4 Newport Harbor 2--Kyndra Cox was the only one who scored for the Sailors, who were held scoreless for two quarters.
In the consolation games:
Edison 4, Goleta Dos Pueblos 2--Goalie Caitlin Wilkes led Edison’s (12-10) defense with 13 saves and four steals. Teammate Ashley Bookspan scored two goals for the Chargers.
Lompoc Cabrillo 6, Canyon 5--Christine McDonald scored three goals for Canyon (13-6). Ashley Pease and Sheva Khalafbeigi each added one goal for the Comanches.
No. 2 Villa Park 3, Corona del Mar 1--Kristyn Pulver scored goals in the third and fourth quarters for Villa Park (17-5).
Los Alamitos 3, North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake 2--Drue Wawrzynski scored two goals, including the game-winner with 2:09 left, for Los Alamitos (12-10). Freshman goalkeeper Jessica Carey had 10 saves for the Griffins.
Rosary 8, Santa Monica 6--Natalie Golda scored three goals and Meghan Monohan added two for Rosary (16-7). Golda and Monohan each scored three goals in an earlier game against Arroyo Grande, which Rosary defeated 7-2.
