Suit Over Safety
Parents of a 3-year-old boy who was killed when a man plowed his car through a Costa Mesa preschool are now suing the school for failing to provide a safe environment for children (Jan. 28), saying that the school is on the corner of a busy street with considerable traffic and that the school should have built formidable obstacles to protect the children from out-of-control cars. Yet, knowing all this before they enrolled their child, they went ahead and endangered him by enrolling him in this school. It seems to me that they are the ones who should be charged with child endangerment, not the school.
