LAKE FOREST
The City Council today is expected to support the anti-El Toro airport initiative, Measure F, on the March 7 ballot. Proponents hope the initiative will kill the county’s plans for an international airport at the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station by requiring a two-thirds public vote to approve the project. If the council supports the initiative, a city newsletter and booths set up at local stores and supermarkets will encourage residents to register and vote in the election. The council will meet at 7 p.m. at Lake Forest City Hall, 23161 Lake Center Drive.
