The pitter-patter of little feet may soon play on artificial turf at local parks. The City Council today will consider using artificial turf for the sports fields at La Paz Park and Alicia Park. The 2-inch thick material made of ground-up rubber and sand provides more cushion than other hard artificial turfs, according to a report from Ken Montgomery, director of public works and Pamela Lawrence, director of recreation and administrative services. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in council chambers, 27841 La Paz Road.
