Oltmans Leads U.S. in Building Warehouses
Whittier-based Oltmans Construction Co. led the nation in construction of distribution and warehouse buildings during 1998, according to a report in Engineering News-Record, a trade magazine. The magazine said Oltmans built $239.9 million worth of warehouse space in 1998, the latest year for which figures are available.
The 65-year-old company ranked first by a margin of $40 million, the magazine said. Oltmans has offices in Ventura County and Mammoth Lakes, in addition to its Whittier headquarters.
