Holiday Closings

The following schedules will be in effect Christmas Day:
* Government: City, county, state and federal offices are closed.
* Courts: County and state courts are closed today; federal courts will be closed today and Tuesday.
* Libraries: City and county libraries are closed today.
* Banks: Closed today.
* Schools: There will be no classes at most public elementary or secondary schools through Jan. 8. Year-round schools will reopen Jan. 2.
* Mail: There will be no mail delivery today; most post offices are closed. Express mail service is available at some post offices. Call (800) 275-8777 to find the nearest open post office.
* Trash: This week and the first week of January, trash pickup will be delayed one day.
* Mass transit: Buses will follow the Sunday schedule today; Metrolink trains will not be in service.
