Clouds Hang Around With Low Pressure
Cloudy skies and cooler temperatures were forecast for Ventura County today, with the possibility of a light sprinkling of rain along the coast by Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
High temperatures today are expected to reach the high 60s and mid-70s, with lows tonight and Friday in the upper 50s to mid-60s.
“This past week we’ve had an upper-level, low-pressure area that backed up off our coast,” said Bill Hoffer, a federal meteorologist. “It looks like the low is going to be hanging out.”
A trace of rain fell in Point Mugu Tuesday, and Simi Valley recorded 0.2 of an inch, Hoffer said. Unrecorded levels of rain also fell in the county’s unincorporated mountain areas to the east, he added.
Temperatures throughout the county Wednesday included 72 degrees in Ojai, 75 in Oxnard, 79 in Thousand Oaks and 78 in Simi Valley. It was 73 degrees in Ventura and 72 at Point Mugu.
