Defeat of Insurance Bill
With the defeat of SB 953 to restrict campaign contributions from insurance companies that have regulatory business pending before the insurance commissioner, our legislators in both parties prove whom they really work for (Aug. 29).
As Doug Heller of the Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights said, “It should be no surprise that those who voted against this legislation also received the most contributions themselves from the insurance industry.” What a shock.
