Pedestrian Dies After Laguna Accident
A pedestrian who was hit by a car as he stepped onto Laguna Canyon Road died of his injuries Monday, police said.
Robert Tsal, 63, of Fountain Valley, was leaving the Laguna Festival of Arts about 5:30 p.m. Sunday. As he began to cross the street, a small sedan struck him, Laguna Beach Police Sgt. Greg Bartz said.
Tsal was taken to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center, where he died, Bartz said.
Bartz said Tsal was not in a crosswalk, although there was one nearby. Bartz said it is unlikely the driver of the car will be charged. He said there is no indication speeding or alcohol was a factor.
