Charity Abroad
On a recent trip to Kenya, my husband and I gave away our clothes and shoes as we wore them. We gave them to strangers and the staff at the lodges where we stayed.
All the recipients were extremely grateful. We will never forget the huge smiles on the faces of two Nairobi street children to whom we gave our old running shoes, or the many schoolchildren to whom we gave school supplies. Used and new clothing is expensive for a Kenyan.
From now on we will do this in every developing country we visit. We hope that other Americans will do the same.
