Arrogant Warning
* After Arthur Carmona’s case (Aug. 22) was thrown out by an Orange County judge for lack of any physical evidence, questionable lineup tactics and recanting witness testimony, I find it reprehensible that Orange County Dist. Atty. Tony Rackauckas would send the 18-year-old the warning, “Do not--I repeat, not--commit any crimes!” Such arrogance and lack of responsibility is what gives our justice system such a bad rap. Instead, Rackauckas should have apologized on his knees for sending Carmona to prison in his sophomore year of high school and robbing him of two precious years. As a young person myself, I would be outraged.
