Police Seek ID of Man Found Dead
Investigators were trying to identify a dead man discovered Saturday morning in a vacant lot in Santa Ana, the victim of an apparent homicide, according to police.
Santa Ana police offered few details but said the body was discovered about 9 a.m. near the intersection of 17th and Fairview streets. Police said they did not know how the man died but that he was bleeding from the head.
“We’re not exactly sure what happened, but it looks like a homicide,” said Lt. Ken Hall. “We think he died sometime at night.”
The Orange County coroner’s office said Saturday afternoon that it had yet to determine the man’s identity or cause of death.
