Friends of Music Series Announced

The Fullerton Friends of Music has announced its 42nd season of free concerts.
Groups and repertory will include:
* Oct. 22: All Bach: Jonathan Mack, tenor; Lucinda Carver, harpsichord: Bach program, including “A Musical Offering” and Cantata No. 189 (“Meine Seele ruhmt und preist”).
* Dec. 3: Alexander String Quartet: Mozart’s Quartet No. 21; Bartok’s Quartet No. 4; Beethoven’s Quartet in C-sharp minor, Opus 131.
* Jan. 7: Amadeus Trio: Haydn’s Trio in E minor, Hob. XV, 12; Cassado’s Trio; Tchaikovsky’s Trio in A minor, Opus 50.
* Feb. 11: Clavino Trio: Mozart’s Trio for Clarinet, Viola and Piano in E-flat, K. 498; Poulenc’s Sonata for Clarinet and Piano; Hindemith’s Sonata for Viola and Piano, Opus 11, No. 4; Schumann’s “Fairy Tales,” Opus 132.
* April 8: Cleveland Duo and saxophonist James Umble: music by Brahms, Bruch, Telemann, Villa-Lobos, others.
* May 13: Bachmann-Klibonoff-Fridman Trio: Beethoven’s “Archduke” Trio; Schoenfield’s “Cafe Music”; Brahms’ Piano Trio in C minor, Opus 101.
Concerts will be held in the Performing Arts Center at Sunny Hills High School, 1801 Warburton Way, Fullerton, and will begin at 3:30 p.m.
