The sixth annual Outdoor Professional Painting Competition finished up on Saturday with a total of $10,000 awarded to painters by Joan Irvine Smith Fine Arts Inc. in Laguna Beach.
From a field of 83 artists, Dan Goozee won the first-place prize of $5,000; the $3,000 second-place prize went to Carole Cooke; and $2,000 for third place went to Kevin Short.
Five artists received honorable mention: Ernesto Nemesio, Jason Situ, Jove Wang, Ray Harris and Lindy Duncan.
