Metrolink Targets Fair, Convention
Metrolink carried 5,089 passengers to the Ventura County Fair during the two weekends of the festival, about 300 fewer than last year. The rail line also issued 1,400 free passes to workers wanting to ride to downtown Los Angeles during the Democratic National Convention.
Both services drew passengers who would not normally ride the train, said Claudia Keith, spokeswoman for Metrolink. “What we hope is that riders who try it out translate into regular riders.”
Six extra trains were chartered specifically for the fair. Regular Metrolink trains were used to get to and from downtown Los Angeles. For more information about Metrolink, call (213) 452-0200.
